Barcode registration means that your barcode number and product details will be registered on the International Barcodes Database. You can then confirm your registration by scanning your barcodes using a compatible barcode scanning app or doing a google search of your barcode number (after search engines have had time to index your barcode/product registration details). What is Barcode Registration?
Barcode registration is an optional service that we offer to help increase the internet profile of your product. It has several advantages
1. With Barcode Registration, certain cell phone apps such as the Zebra app will return your product information when your barcode is scanned. Normally a ‘product not found’ notification is shown
2. It helps to increase the internet profile of your product, so that if your barcode is searched in Google, product information appears.
3. It dissuades people from illegally using your barcode. If a quick internet search tells someone the barcode is in use, they will be far more likely to choose another barcode number. This is an easy way of safeguarding against future complications if illegal barcode use needs following up.

You can enter your barcode number into the “additional information” section when you checkout. we will email you to request proof of barcode ownership, once we receive proof that you own your barcode we will send you instructions for how to register your barcode number.
Please note that Registration is included if you purchase an EAN or UPC barcode package or barcode number from us – therefore you only need to purchase Registration if you got your EAN or UPC barcode number from a different company, or if you have an ISBN or ISSN number that you want to register.

“Why should I get my barcodes and products registered?”
Barcode registration is completely optional (your barcodes will work without it), however getting your barcode registered will raise the profile of your product on the internet.
Once your bar code number and product details are registered on the major internet databases, they will join the millions of products already contained in the databases. After that, when someone does an internet search for your barcode (or else scans your barcode using their fast phone), your barcode will be connected to your product.
